Telehealth Appointments

Dr Ross Radic is offering an opportunity to consult with you if you live in a remote location or are not in Perth.

What do I need for telehealth appointments?

It is very likely that you already have all the equipment required.

1. A computer with a webcam/microphone (integrated into your computer or plug in) OR a smart phone OR tablet
2. A reliable high speed internet connection
3. The Zoom app

To receive a Zoom call, you will need to sign up for a free account if you do not already have one.

Before Your Operation

It is important for Dr Radic to know your medical history, in order to plan the best treatment for you in hospital. Please bring a summary of your medical history to your appointment. In particular, please inform him if you:

  • Have a bleeding disorder
  • Have been diagnosed with blood clots in the leg (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolism)
  • Are currently taking any blood thinners
  • Have a heart or lung issue
  • Have diabetes (type 1 or 2)
  • Have had a joint infection in the past
  • Are a smoker – although smoking is not advisable for your overall health, it is particularly important to cease smoking prior to orthopaedic surgery. Smoking increases your risk of complications, especially infection and slow wound healing.

It is a good idea to remain as active as possible. Low impact exercise should be continued for as long as possible in the lead-up to surgery.
